As a child, we were blessed to have TBS Superstation out of Atlanta show an after school lineup of some of the best television ever made. I have finally found a church home in Austin. Today I joined First United Methodist Church and am relieved to finally have a foundation and a home base for my Faith in Austin.
Rejoice and be glad in it! I am looking forward to becoming involved in the church and continuing my walk with God.
President Obama, on the very day North Carolina voters put a ban on civil unions and marriage equality in their state constitution, spoke out on Marriage Equality. The news, on a Wednesday no less, has dominated the news cycle. To me, it is nice to see a leader be so bold on an issue that [...]
North Carolina is the latest state to embrace bigotry and the put the reduction of rights for a minority into their state constitution. Just as the South did in the Jim Crow era, the majority of ignorant people made laws to oppress a minority they hated for a variety of very stupid reasons.

I have lived in Austin for 9 years and have not found a church home. I get motivated and start spending my [...]
In this video, Janelle says that the masculinity of her father helped her find the man she wanted to marry…a similar awful close minded person. Janelle and Brian speak for nearly 6 minutes about how marriage is between a man and a woman and that gay people shouldn’t have the right to that same [...]
I just returned from seeing The Iron Lady, starring Meryl Streep. While many disagree with Prime Minister Thatcher’s policies, I believe her core conservative principals were honorable and she carried out her vision admirably. There was a quote in the movie that I can not confirm was uttered by the real Prime Minister, but when [...]
I love Christmas. Even though Christmas isn’t filled with the joy it once was and there is a cloud of sadness that hovers over me at this time of year, I still manage to find the joy and wonder of this holiday. My grandmother always made Christmas special for us and when she died (just [...]
