Thanks for the memories

Hey y'all! Well, I know you've seen this coming and I can't believe it is actually so hard to do, but it is time for me to say goodbye. I cannot believe how much a part of me this blog became and can't tell you how many great people I've met and how much fun I've had poking fun at Texas and national politics.

I talked to Pink Lady about one last happy hour and if we can find the time, she'll talk about it on her blog.

The blog will stick around for archives and who knows, maybe someone will take up the mantle of being the sexy drunk blogger for Austin. It just won't be me anymore. If someone does convince me they have what it takes to be "PinkDome" I hope you'll welcome them with open arms. Or who knows, when the gavel comes down on the next legislative session I may get drunk and have something to say.

Much love to those of you I love and the rest of you can go suck it.

Adios, MoFo

Anonymous at April 7, 2008 10:06 PM

Take care,I liked your style, will miss it.

popeyemoon at April 8, 2008 7:38 AM

PD,
I will never forget when you strolled through Carter's door that first Sine Die and we chatted for a bit. And even better, the parties later that evening. I still have my "I am Pink Dome" sticker. I'll miss you!

Cool about your new gig. Good for you!

Sam at April 8, 2008 8:42 AM

I have enjoyed your blog and wish you well. I'll miss your posts.

hyped on coffee at April 8, 2008 9:00 AM

Best of luck. I really enjoyed your blog!

Keep well semi-anonymous blogger.

Genevieve Van Cleve at April 8, 2008 9:45 AM

I'm so glad we started this blog, even though my posts have become much less frequent. I miss our frantic energy and edge . . .

I'm still staying (somewhat) anonymous, but I recommend that people read austinist.com. I'll keep reading ITPT, even through Eileen's pro-Hillary posts. =)

Much love, PD! and Rawhide! and SuperWow!

bluebonnet at April 8, 2008 10:01 AM

Say it isn't so!

Best wishes for success in the new place.

Jeb at April 8, 2008 10:29 AM

Thanks. Will miss this great spot.

KenInDallas at April 8, 2008 10:35 AM

The very first blog on my blogroll, saying good bye. It's been fantastic. Thanks for the great blog, and best of luck in your new gig!

jd0505 at April 8, 2008 11:01 AM

Why when I read this posting did "Yesterday" by The Beatles play in my head?

Farewell PD. May the God of your choice bless you and keep you safe.

Jason at April 8, 2008 11:20 AM

Well this fucking sucks, this is the only political blog worth a damn and is funny to boot. Burnt Orange sucks ass, and the right leaning blogs are too fucking retarded to even follow. I can't believe this shit. Now am going to have to head over to McTool's blog so me and him can just sit there looking at each other because you can damn well better bet nobody else is going to be there. Dammit!!
PD, thanks for the blog, this has been fun while it lasted. Also, I didn't know that you were the test man for Verizon Wireless, dude, that totally kicks ass.
Anyway, good luck and thanks again.

anon at April 8, 2008 11:57 AM

PD - we're totally keeping a bottle of that shitty champagne you drink on ice for your triumphant return. Which will happen (don't you dare rain poop on my parade). Just, whatever you do, don't make us drink any of it.

As for you, Anon, I'll miss you. Much like I miss acne and an empty checking account. Anytime you want to come by, you're welcome. Out of all the losers on the right, you're truly my favorite. Except for Michelle Malkin who is just too much crazy on a stick not to love.

mcblogger at April 8, 2008 12:15 PM

You will always be one of my bookmarks.

Laura Stromberg at April 8, 2008 1:00 PM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

What will we do once session starts?

New Girl at April 8, 2008 1:08 PM

awesome - Verizon Wireless dude - and anon goes out with a bang. well done.

RawHide at April 8, 2008 1:39 PM

Impossible. Unimaginable.

You'll be greatly missed, amigo.

Gritsforbreakfast at April 8, 2008 1:47 PM

Good Luck PD and thanks for the use of the hall. This has been a good forum to provide good, intelligent info (that would be me and Anon) and read the rest of the liberal lunatics belch their tasteless rhetoric.

Hope you can restart gain for the session.

plain spoken at April 8, 2008 2:21 PM

I'll see you at the next Karen Brooks Fan Club meeting.

Happy Trails!

lush at April 8, 2008 3:51 PM

Lush - we'll both be there ;)

And Pink Dome, you'll be missed online, but I know where to find you.

love you, sexy thing.

Best wishes to you! Cheers!

Aww hell, what I am going to do now when I need to keep up with home?

Bottle of Vouve for you next time I'm in Austin.

BacchusXY at April 9, 2008 11:03 AM

Adios, mofo.

M1EK at April 9, 2008 6:19 PM

Thanks for keeping me centered while leaning to the left!

D Bartholomew at April 9, 2008 7:45 PM

If your rolling out, I no longer read blogs. This was the only one with a sense of humor, common sense, and intelligence rolled into one post! This is the only place that told a story of what really goes on in the dome. I will now retire my pink back back that I wear to school as a political statement. Yes, I wear a pink back pack along with the rest of my cowboy clothing to school and when asked why I wear a pink back pack I promote your blog. I will miss it! Best of luck to you. P.S thank you for writing for the attention challenged!

Arlington Duck at April 10, 2008 5:01 PM

Thank you all so much for the nice words. You instantly made me regret my decision. I'm guessing I won't be able to help myself when the next session comes around. You know I've got a lot to say!
