Thank you ahead of time for your efforts to help The Campaign for Andy Lopez for Sheriff.

Andy Lopez is running to restore Honor and Integrity to the Leadership of the Sheriff's Department.

We must continue to get the word out about this very important race in order to truly maximize the potential for the Democratic Party. As a Democrat we must work smart and together to guarantee that a Democrat holds the Sheriff's position. We must vote smart by electing a candidate that has the most experience for the office that they are running for.

Needing much Integrity, Unification, and Change, within the Sheriff's Department, we need to be smart in picking a candidate. One candidate for Sheriff used to be the former Sheriff's top Deputy Chief of the Bexar County Sheriff's Department during an Administration that made national news for corruption controversy and official misconduct. Another candidate for Sheriff has run for several different offices as a Republican and a Democrat. What next? Need I say more?

It's time for a real change. A candidate, with real Sheriff's Department experience. Andy Lopez is the right Democratic for the future success of Bexar County Sheriff's Department.

Andy is a professional law enforcement officer with over 35 years of experience; 25 of those within the Bexar County Sheriff's Department. He started his law enforcement career in 1968 as a Bexar County Jailer. Andy's hard work and dedication quickly earned him a promotion to the Patrol Division; progressing on to Criminal Warrants, Investigations and then to Sergeant within Internal Affairs. His last assignment was an appointment to Deputy Chief over the Community Relations Support Group Unit.

Having the opportunity and privilege of serving under five different elected Sheriff's and one elected District Attorney, he has the diverse knowledge and the experience to make our Bexar County Sheriff's Department one of the best, well-trained and well administered Sheriff's Department in the State of Texas.

I am so excited about the phenomenal media response (print, television, and radio); and the enthusiasm Andy is receiving from the community for officially filing for the 2008 Bexar County Sheriff's Race.
