Melting Pot, Oh Melting Pot

Remember a few weeks ago when that guy named Joe Horn in Pasadena killed two guys who were burgling his neighbor's house while a 911 operator told him not to? It's turning out to be a pretty big deal.

Quannell X, Houston Black Panther, thought it was bullshit and staged a sort of protest against the nothing that was happening to punish Joe Horn for the shooting of people.

This video of the event and the white supremacist mob scene that ensued complete with revving hog, only further proves that Pasadena is the worst of Florida and Louisiana transplanted to Southeast Texas.

Mr. Horn is white and the burglars, he told the 911 operator, were black. Yet the neighbors whose house Mr. Horn was protecting are Vietnamese. They later said they thought the two men had been stalking them...And both, the police say, were illegal immigrants from Colombia...

I actually know a few guys who've lived in Pasadena. They all went there to be with women they'd met online who had that crazy-eyes thing going on.

I guess these poor black guys thought they were in Dallas where Black Panthers get more props.

Memo to burgalers: if you get caught robbing someone's house expect that you might get shot, even killed, no matter what your race.

um.

isn't that murder?

jed at December 13, 2007 9:41 AM

It is when it's premeditated. Horn wasn't trying to stop or deter anyone, he killed them deliberately.

Hey, I'd have no problem with a homeowner killing someone who broke into their home. At that point you don't know intentions or how they may be armed. However, when the people in question are clearly leaving and you ARE ON THE PHONE WITH THE POLICE, you don't make haste to catch them with a 12 gauge.

What Horn did was leave the comfort and safety of his home and shoot someone. Period. He sought to end someone's life. This wasn't home defense, it was one fat white guy looking to 'make things right'. Only in someplace as twisted as Pasadena would he be called a hero.

Maybe it's the pollution...

This case is really messed up. I know we all want to cowboys and be all "shoot first and ask questions later" but it not our job to kill people. That's the government's job.

Seriously, cap someone over some shiny rocks and a fist full of cash? If they were attacking someone or raping someone, sure shoot them but over "stuff?"

However, these two STUPID crooks were shot in the back while turning to run (allegedly) and they weren't even taking the shooters trinkets. It doesn't help that he told the operator, "I’m going to kill them." Any danger he alleges he was in, he put himself there. He might as well said, "Hey Earl, hold my beer and watch this."

What I don't understand is why they starting chanting USA. I thought we reserved that for when we played hockey against the Soviets.

H-Town Guy at December 13, 2007 9:55 AM

I have some mixed feelings on this. What will undoubtedly help Mr. Horn, should the case go to trial, is that the victims were convicted felons who were once deported and returned to the country illegally. However, that is not relevant to whether or not Mr. Horn's actions were justifiable. I place much of the blame with the police. They took at least 8 minutes to arrive at the scene of a crime in process. I've been burglarized three times. Once my office was broken into and files were stolen (at a campaign, no less). Police arrived a day late, and obviously did not know how to investigate the scene, and had to read the instruction manual before attempting to take fingerprints. Amazingly, the perpetrators were never brought to justice. The other two times my car was broken into at my residence. The first time, there was considerable blood at the scene. Police arrived and told me to call my insurance company. The last time, my car door was pried open with a crow bar, doing $1,500 worth of damage in order to steal a three year old IPod. I didn't even bother calling the police. While I cannot say for sure what I would have done in the situation, If I were a juror, I don't think I could punish Mr. Horn, but whatever police officer failed to respond in a timely manner because he was busy working a speed trap across town SHOULD be given a reprimand of some kind.

Again, if you are going to fuck around with ill intent don't be surprised if you run into somebody that thinks shooting you is a good idea and will likely get off for doing it.

And don't give me this shit about "oh, they were only robbing for "stuff" not actually committing a real crime", there are plenty of people that have been killed or hurt by a robbery gone bad.

Excuses, excuses for the poor criminals. Did they deserve to die? Who knows. But it wouldnt' even be a question if they hadn't been breaking into someone's house. So fuck them.

anon at December 13, 2007 10:44 AM

"Did they deserve to die? Who knows."

Really?

I'll answer that for you since you don't have the intestinal fortitude to answer it yourself. NO - they did not deserve to die.

We have laws for a reason. We can't have people shooting people because they think a person deserves it.

Trigger happy guy white guy shoots two non-white people with stolen loot that isn't his. Those people deserve to go to jail not die. This is civilized society EVEN if some people don't act like it.

This guy is in a world of hell now that he took the lives of two people. At least HE will get his day in court...

H-Town Guy at December 13, 2007 12:42 PM

You have the right to shoot someboy if you are Rep. Borris Miles. Just can't kill nobody.

anony at December 13, 2007 1:40 PM

H-Town,

Maybe it was just their time.

Look, it's not like these guys were stealing copper wire out of a warehouse or breaking into a car in a parking lot. They were trying to bust into a house were someone lives. Sorry, but that makes these fuckers dangerous and few will shed a tear for what happened to them. You are right, we do live in a society of laws, too bad these two dead fucks didn't adhere to them.

As far as my intestinal fortitude, why don't you lick my ass and give us a read out.

anon at December 13, 2007 2:35 PM

In another twist, investigators revealed that a plainclothes Pasadena detective witnessed the Nov. 14 shootings after he pulled up in an unmarked car seconds before Horn fired three shots from his 12-gauge shotgun.

The men, who had just burglarized Horn's neighbor's house, faced him from seven to 10 feet away when they ignored his order to "not move"or they would be dead, police said.

Honestly, the issue isn't that these people were scum (they were), The issue is this fucker who has seen far too many movies WALKED OUT OF HIS HOUSE AND SHOT SOMEONE.

What he did was premeditated fuckiing MURDER. Oh, he'll be acquitted, mostly because a jury of his peers will be mouthbreathers just like him.

As for punishing the police, gimme a fucking break. All anyone ever does is bitch and moan about goddamn taxes and the fact is our goddamn taxes pay for police. You want more and better police officers? Vote for people who will spend the goddamn money to make it fucking happen.

/tourettes.

mcblogger at December 14, 2007 8:26 AM

Damn McTool,
Chill out, were these guys your buddies?

anon at December 14, 2007 10:33 AM

See, that's brings up another good point. Why the hell is calling the shooter out for being a murderer automatically equated with sympathy for the victims? If these two were breaking into HIS house and he shot them then I'd have no problem. However, they weren't. This moron went out of his way to put himself in their path. He made the decision and he should live with the consequences.

mcblogger at December 14, 2007 11:59 AM

McTool,
Fuck that, Who knows what these two fuckheads were capable of, you weren't there and neither was I. If you are going to commite crime be prepared for anything or.. oh.. I.. don't... know, don't commit crime.

You should read the news today about the two LSU grads that were murdered in what they think was a home robbery. I guess you don't have a problem with that sinc e criminals are suppose to do shit like that.

If you are going to break into someone's house, even if it's not yours, you deserve to get shot.

anon at December 14, 2007 4:03 PM

Obviously, quite a bit. It's not what they were capable of that concerns me, it's what they were doing. Robbing someone's house. We don't kill people for that. You want the law changed? Write a new one and have your rep file it.

Regardless, the fact remains that this idiot wasn't in any danger and left his house to shoot these people. No danger, no affirmative defense. I'm sure he'll be no billed by the GJ so that's largely a moot point.

Again, I have no problem with someone shooting a burglar who breaks into their home. I would... I'd probably spend the rest of my life asking for forgiveness for it, but I'd do it.

I do have a big problem when some jackass decides he's going to play trigger happy cop.

Fuck the old man. He's a dumbass, not a hero.
