Austin Breaks My Heart

The reader comments on this news story break my heart. I can hardly believe what I read from ordinary citizens in what I thought was one of the most highly educated and progressive cities in the country.

You can thank Joe Driver for that one.

Ugh. It makes me ashamed to be from Texas.

Just goes to show even the most "progressive" city in the country has some seasoning. After all, we've got Alex Jones as a resident. How progressive can you be there?

everett at November 17, 2007 2:44 PM

WTF? I would never consider Pasadena, TX a progressive city or one filled with highly educated citizens.

pffft at November 17, 2007 6:07 PM

No, Pasadena is not progressive or full of intelligent people. The news story is posted on an Austin station's website. Those people are Austin TV watchers.

Sadly, after the expanded "castle doctrine" that was passed during session, I think we're going to be seeing a lot more incidents like this one.

Harris County's grand jury will likely no-bill this fellow, even though it wasn't his domicile, even though he was warned off by police.

I don't really feel your pain so much, Pink, because you're just neighbors with the cheerleaders. I have to live next to the people who actually DO shit like this.

Oh waaaaaaaaah Let's pee ourselves because don't you know ALL GUNS ARE BAAAD, BAAAAAAAA little sheep pimp.

The PoPo are not there to protect you. That is f--- not how it works. It is an illusion. You are ultimately responsible for your own safety. Nothing will ever change that. And if you don't stop a crime you are just as bad as the perpetrators --remember that you DAMN GOOD GERMANS!
