Sunday: Getting Your Jesus On

It's Sunday morning and I'm listening to Church, like I do every Sunday morning. I've been criticized on these pages before for some of my statements about religion and, what I call, Christian Terrorists. The message today reminded me why I do sometimes rail against what I consider false Christianity. False Christianity is when religion mixes with politics. The message was, "How do you keep the main thing, the main thing?" What a very good question! What is the main tenet of Christianity that strengthens my Faith? We can look to Luke 10:25 for the answer:

On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"/"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"/He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"/"You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."
That boils it down pretty simply. There are two main rules to follow to inherit Eternal Life. Love God and Love Thy Neighbor. Man, that's pretty simple.

I could commit to that, but it doesn't mean I won't continue to call out liars, hypocrites and those that preach evil and damnation as opposed to grace and forgiveness.
