Farmers Branch Councilman: Big Time Racist

rsafb.bmp "The retail spots ... for every two that went vacant, one would be filled by a Spanish-speaking business, then, you ... saw what was once a really, really, really nice neighborhood start to decline," O'Hare, 37, said in an interview with The Associated Press at the ornately decorated two-story home he shares with his two dogs. (Chron)

Yeah. If it weren't for the dirty Mexicans these neighborhoods would be really nice. Can you believe this shit? The facts are that crime is down in Farmer's Branch and property values are up. But why let facts get in the way of a little politically expedient bandwagon-jumping race baiting? Calling George Wallace, your protege is on line one.

"the ornately decorated two-story home he shares with his two dogs"...

...uhhh, did that strike anyone else as code for Mr. O'Hare's membership in a minority other than Irish?

What? White Trash? But, wouldn't that be everybody in Farmer's Branch?

"...uhhh, did that strike anyone else as code for Mr. O'Hare's membership in a minority other than Irish?"

Ah, but notice he didn't say "tastefully decorated." Nor did I see any mention of track lighting.

But the Houston Chronicle admits there is an illegal alien problem in Farmer Branch (excerpt below):

No one disputes that Farmers Branch has changed since O'Hare grew up here in a tiny house, raised by a single mom. Immigrants — legal, illegal and many of them Hispanic — have moved into what was once a predominantly white community with a declining population.

Sure it's changed. Now FB has better cuisine!

TallTxChick at July 24, 2007 11:12 PM

TallTxChick - I think the operative word in the story is "illegal" alien. Anyone concerned about illegal aspect of the story?

Agree about the cuisine though.
