Catty. Chatty. And Occasionally Trashy.

Obama-Rama

Our advice is to avoid the Town Lake area of Austin this afternoon. Traffic will surely be snarled if 16,000 people show up to hear a speech by Senator Obama. We'll catch the live stream...oh wait, we probably won't catch it live. You know, because we have a job. We'll catch it on YouTube later.

BB updates 2:25pm: A little birdie just told me that News 8 is saying they are at capacity at Auditorium Shores (that means 20,000 people showed up). Good golly, Miss Molly! KEYE has a live feed of the crowd up. There's still 30 minutes until Obama speaks. . .

BB updates 3pm: Ok, the Statesman is saying 10,000. I'm still watching KEYE's feed and heard a little bit of Keith Elkins preparing his audio for the 5pm newscast. Don't think that was supposed to happen! Or maybe it was.

BB updates: Final tally for the rally? I'm leaning more towards News8's count of almost 17,000. Surely not all the people who signed up for passes came, so maybe the number is more like 15,000. That's still 5,000 more than the Statesman was saying earlier.

16,000 people? I hope thats a joke.
I'll make a prediction right now that they don't even get 1/3 of that.

There are not 20,000 people there. Look at the camera. That is not 20,000 - far less. The cops are probably just getting a burr up their ass and trying to manage the traffic in the area.

Nope at February 23, 2007 2:40 PM

Maybe they had the million man march counters there.
I really hope that the Dems do nominate Obama because his two seconds of elected life expeirence won't stand up in the general election.
Besides, what's his chances of carrying Texas?

anon at February 24, 2007 10:45 AM

anon, if you want to stay the cynical blog troll who can't even come up with a catchy pseudonym and drink beer by yourself at campus estates while all the kids who give a shit stand in the rain to be inspired by a presidential candidate, then you do that. Who are you backing for president? Do you back the current administration? Obama gives the option of hope. Now there are 20,000 or more kids who are becoming actively involved in a campaign and you, ahhhhhh you think you know it all and are way to young to be so crabby.

Wow Marie, your comments really stung.
I think it may be time to re-examine my whole life.
I've also come up with a new name so you won't think badly of me anymore. From now on I'm: FistingMarie. You like?

anon at February 25, 2007 10:35 PM

When you white boys can't take the heat you resort to homoerotic, sexually deviant comments. If it makes you feel like a big, big man to call yourself fistingmarie then you go for it, cowboy, cause we all know what you're really into.

Yawn

anon at February 26, 2007 10:56 AM

Marie... don't judge anon's ability to take an entire frozen turkey into his ass. People pay money to see that on the coasts!

mcblogger at February 26, 2007 2:45 PM

But for the really big bucks, McTool has to then eat the turkey. Mmmmmmmmmm.

anon at February 26, 2007 2:50 PM

'tard... EVERYONE knows my thing is eating BEEF that's been up someone's ass.

Quit trying to play. You're too dumb. Go cry now, titbaby.
