The tension in the House, the strange thing that killed the birdies yesterday, whichever. If we were totally dedicated bloggers, we'd be with Eileen trying to blog from the Capitol. Then again, whenever we tried blogging from the Capitol, we had the damndest time getting a WiFi signal.
I'll at least have a small screen on my monitor open so I can view the live stream. Let's hope Pitts' mic is working today.
12:05 update: The 80th session has theme music? Who knew?
12:34 update: Nothing of note has happened yet, unless you call the act of people being sworn in notable. Which we don't.
As I said above, I am not liveblogging yet, because I have a job that I actually have to work at sometimes. Both Wells at the Austin Chronicle and Eileen at ITPT are liveblogging right now. When exciting stuff starts happening, we will certainly offer our snark, as timely as possible.
The Pink Panther.
We're liveblogging the opening at http://www.austinchronicle.com/chronic
The theme music is a lame chord progression. It's no theme from "The American President", sadly.
And Wells, we might be doing something akin to liveblogging when it gets exciting.
Did you notice we added a link to your blog on our links menu?
Oh no, didn't notice! Thanks!
bluebonnet: Thanks for the link on the front page, but please change it to the link Wells cites above; he has started breaking his updates into separate posts, so if people click on the link you have now, they won't get his latest. Thanks.
Oh, and you've never heard the Lege's theme music? It was better last session. Kind of disco-ish. We used to break out in dance here at the Chronicle office every time it came out. Well, okay, only I did, and my officemates just stared at me uncomfortably.
You can't keep us in suspense. What's the theme music?
