Watch Pitts' Press Conference

Click here to watch the 4:00 press conference.

BB adds: For some reason, there's no audio. Perhaps because Mr. Pitts isn't speaking into a mic!

RawHide adds: He was speaking into a mic, but none of the mic's in the room were working. Craddick cut off the member's mics on the House floor, maybe he was just doing it again.

From what I understand of the conference, Pitts' isn't working with any other speaker candidate, and he believes he has the bipartisan support to be elected. He didn't release any names.

Maybe Pitts didn't speak into a mic because Craddick and staff could tune in as well. I bet it drove them crazy that they couldn't hear him. I think it was rather clever of Pitts not to use the mic. No doubt there will be a summary on QR

Rawhide - the mic was one given to him by the media camera guy so he could get the remarks on video for the news. the technical crew was in there turning on the sound system and trying to arrange some mics to capture Pitts' remarks but to no avail

Are McCall and Craddick considering Peggy Hamric as COS to help gain votes?
