What do these two items have in common?

We were pointed towards these two news items today:

- The Republicans in the House are determined to pass a bill in the lame duck session that will determine when fetuses feel pain. There's no way the Senate will pass the bill, so it's basically just a waste of tax money to send a message to "pro-abortion" Democrats. The message we take from it: the Republicans are sore losers. [CNN] (Thanks, CR)

- Conservative "pro-life" Christian leaders are going after Pastor Ted Warren since he invited Obama to come speak at a global summit on AIDS at Warren's church. They are angry that a pro-choice Democrat was invited, even though the abortion issue has nothing to do with Obama's visit. [AP on Yahoo!]
