The Real "Cut and Run"

The Middle East is a big ol' mess, ain't it? It's real hard to figure out what sort of policy the United States and our allies ought to have in the exhausting conflict over there. We aren't just talking about Iraq, but many countries in that region. Nobody is advocating a 'cut and run' over there, what people are advocating is a change in policy that is most assuredly not working.

When the subject of civil war breakouts in the region, Rush Limbaugh said on his show,

"All right, well, let's just have them. Let's just have the civil wars and let the crumbs crumble and the cookie crumble where -- because I'm fed up with this." and "Fine, just blow the place up. Just let these natural forces take place over there instead of trying to stop them, instead of trying to use -- I just -- sometimes natural force is going to happen. You're going to have to let it take place."
Brilliant. It's clear why this man is a radio DJ and not a foreign policy expert. What a petulant child. When things get frustrating or too hard, Rush seems to think it's ok to just blow it all up. This simplemindedness is what makes Americans as a whole seem like a country full of retards to the rest of the world.

We don't pretend to have any idea how to fix the mess that is the Middle East--at least we don't pretend to until we have had a few martinis--but we do know one thing, we are sick and tired of redneck foreign policy that thinks blowing shit up is the answer to every conflict.

Go back to fifth grade, Rush. You and your thoughtless remarks are really what's bad for America. [HuffPo]

How's Air America doing?

Wonk [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 29, 2006 2:10 PM

Fuck you, whore. Fuck Rush Limbaugh too, I could give a shit less about him, but definitely Fuck You. I don't give a fuck what the rest of the whole shitty, goddamn earth thinks about us. You know why they think stupid-ass, incorrect things about America? Because they're not here. They're stuck in their hell-hole, decrepit hovels in their decaying, backwards civilizations instead of living in the greatest country in the world. If they ever had the chance to come here, they'd never want to leave. Seriously, fuck other countries. There is nowhere else I would ever live but here, and I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who doesn't. Your countries suck! As for you, cunt, if you're so worried about what two-bit nations think about the people here (not the government, but the average American citizen, which is who you've impugned here), you should go live in one of them. Outside of that- fuck yourself.

Man, someone didn't take their meds, huh?

Wipe the spittle from your chin, Catherine, and take a look around this country. It's full of people, just like the rest of the world. We're not any smarter, or better, or more filled with virtue than people in other countries.

Most adults have figured this out on their own, but you obviously need help.
