BillHop

I stumbled across a pretty cool new website last night. BillHop.com effectively serves as a wiki dedicated to all the amazing legislation that's sure to be filed this session.

Take, for example, the Blogger Libel Bill, HB 129. You can read a description of this abortion of legislation, view talking points, and leave comments. Here, I've got one: rumor has it Rep. Truitt shaves her back with a rusty Bic. A little more about the site:

Each state (and Congress) has its own wiki-reference pages for bills and issues related to its legislation. On the front page of each state's main page you will be able to see the last six issue pages updated on the site. On the right, there is a menu (which requires Flash Player to view) that allows you to view the most favorable, unfavorable, liberal, conservative bills as rated by BillHop users, in addition to the bill pages that have most recently been updated.

All content on the BillHop website is contributed by its registered users. Some information may be supplied by advocacy organizations who follow certain issues. Some info may be contributed by legislative staffers or policy analysts. Still some may be the contribution of ordinary concerned citizens who have personal experience in the issue they're writing on. It is hoped that this amalgamation of perspectives will result in a body of information that accurately reflects reality.

Assuming participation reaches a high enough level, this could be pretty fun. Sign up for an account and start a-libelin'!
