Martha Wong and Ellen Cohen debated last night at Rice University in Houston. Martha let out some of her trademark twisted logic. A few highlights:
Heck of deal to be able to buy all of the land of $2 million.
You've had, like, four years to skewer her, and we've had to put up with her that entire time. Someone else needs to make the sacrifice. Maybe after November, Florida can send Kitty Harris our way.
Actually maybe she meant 2 billion. But she acted as if the whole thing was a big money maker to the citizens. Of course it will only cost you about $60 bucks in tolls to drive on it and it will cost truckers over $200 in tolls. So you see Martha, it isn't FREE. Where the state used to provide us roads to travel on, we would now have to pay to use the state roads.
The only other time I have paid that much to travel on a road between two major cities was in the country we are becoming more and more like.....Mexico. Yes folks the wealthy in Mexico can travel on a beautiful highway between Mexico City and Acapulco....for about $65. The rest of the great unwashed (and the little farms they owned and the little towns they live in) can just blow away in the wind. That beautiful toll road in Mexico was a similar boondogle with plenty of mordida for the politicians there.
Sound familiar?
She is SO the dumb semi-aged rich asian woman who can't drive.
She was just a little confused...The two million is what they are planning to spend on buying the land.
