Thoughts on the Foley media circus

Is the Foley story getting too much press?

This guy seems to echo the thoughts of my roommate this morning. I was watching CNN's "American Morning" while eating breakfast. She came into the room, upset at all the hoopla over Foley. She said, "It's just ridiculous that all the fuss is being made over this when there are much worse things going on."

I replied, "Well, it is ironic given his position on the committee on the internet and child. . ."

"No," she said. "There are more important things going on right now in the world."

"Well, the media is the media," I said. "If it's not one thing, it's another, but it's never what you wish they would talk about.

"But," I added, "Anderson Cooper is in Africa this week!"

I have not enjoyed watching the news this much for a long long long time. How can you not enjoy watching the Rs turn on each other as they all begin to jump ship.

Well, I'll admit that I enjoy the GOP leadership falling apart as much as the next gal, but there is other news out there.

- Iraq (of course)
- war in Sudan
- Woodward's book fallout
- Paris H. and Travis Barker's ex-wife getting in a fight outside an LA club(/sarcasm)
