There's an article in the San Antonio Express-News about political blogs today. It's one of the best little pieces about recognizing 'new media' that we've read lately. However, we wouldn't be us if we didn't have a couple of things to say.
Mac McCall, Gene Seaman's campaign consultant said, "They're trying to be journalists." We reply: No. No we are not. Maybe some of the other blogs have such lowly aspirations, but those of us at PinkDome have zero desire to become journalists. We already have jobs that put us in a tax bracket significantly higher than you already anyway.
"These blogs all have an agenda, and they have no accountability," Stromberg said. We Reply: PinkDome has an agenda...it's to point out when politicians are moronic and disappoint us. Then we skewer them with their own stupidity. We are the boss around here...you know why? Because every one of us vote. As the boss, we'd like each candidate and elected official to consider PinkDome a continuous 'performance evaluation' and sometimes we have to speak with you in our office. As for accountability, when we feel that the elected officials in our state have some, we'll gladly accept a little of it, too.
SAXN says, They also are meeting grounds where political news junkies and like-minded activists and insiders go to commiserate, soak up campaign minutiae and polling data, and see analysis of the work of the mainstream media (known in blog shorthand as MSM). We reply: There is nothing we loathe more than commiserating with whiny ass liberals. Pinkdome is not a site for narrow minded activisits and party loyalists, our coverage means no one is exempt. As far as analysis goes, if some wisdom comes at the bottom of a bottle of Veuve Clicquot, that's about as much in-depth as you'll get from us!
Whatever. Like you guys have any accountability. I can loan you out my fact-checkers, as soon as I hire some.
I think it's a fair point to disclose personal interests, esp. if you are a staffer or campaign person for a particular candidate.
Musselman said the audio file came from a Houston man who — as far as Musselman knew — was unattached to any of the campaigns of Friedman's three main rivals.
Why does this remind me of the scene in Animal House where the Deltas were coughing the word "Bullshit"?
I also said PinkDome is the BEST. BLOG. EVER. But they didn't quote me on it.
What about the part where Seaman's campaign guy tried to play off the penis impression?
