Shut Up & Sing

The movie about the Dixie Chicks run in with the neo-conservatives opens nationwide November 10, but NBC refused to air commercials promoting the film. We don't understand why we aren't old enough to watch a commercial for a movie that we may or may not go see. You can visit the Dixie Chicks Shut Up & Sing MySpace page for information about the movie or watch the trailer here. That's right, PinkDome has got bigger balls that NBC executives. Did you ever doubt that?

Free speech is a double edged sword. Boo fuckin' hoo for these millionares.

Honestly, who cares what these bimbo's have to say?

I do!

PoliticalCritic at October 30, 2006 6:06 PM

The Dixie Wenches aren't worth the time to blog about, but here I go: they, and other celebrities (Michael J. Fox?) believe they can make any political comment or action and should not suffer any back lash...because they're celebrities. I wish the world worked like that.

You're right Wonk, free speech is a two-edged sword and they are bimbo's!

^Why do you hate America? Since when is it so f'ing offensive for people to speak their opinion? It's what makes this country great you asshole.

Pinkdome at October 30, 2006 10:11 PM

PD - it's great for people to speak their opinions...ALL people. The Dixie Wenches (and all other celebrities) must understand that it is not offensive, per se, to speak your opinion, but another opposing opinion will boomerang back at their little pointy heads and they don't need to ballup and cry foul when it does.

Also, I hope you weren't refering to me when you typed "asshole".

Silly Natalie, everyone knows Bush is from Connecticut. If he'd been born here, I might be tad ashamed also.

treehugger at October 31, 2006 8:49 AM

Don't try to paint the picture that it's the "neo-conservatives" against the poor little Dixie Chicks, I'm guessing there were plenty of Yellow Dog Democrats calling for a ban on them as well.
Natalie Maines is a fucking idiot. Watching her speak is like watching a school yard tattle tale crying foul, her stupidity is breath taking. They want to step into the political arena and then act like they were attacked? Gosh, I can't believe they haven't garnered more sympathy.
You would think the dumbass would be for this war and anything else that protects the American way of life, it's the only country in which a semi-talented entertainer's opinion would actually make the news. I'm sure the rest of the world can't possibly give credence to the court jesters' opinions the way we do here in this country and yes, that goes for Michael "Shakes the Clown" Fox as well.
