Fun with Internet Statistics

Just because I'm a nerd, I check in our site stats every once in a while. Remember the first time I noticed the White House was reading the site? Every time I see the cia.gov or fbi.gov or uscourts.gov I freak out a little, but not so much when I notice nasa.gov...I just think...uhm, we never write about space. Two of my favorite domains that visit the site are the .edu and media outlets that visit. We feel so special that the Ivy League are frequent visitors and the sheer volume of newspapers that visit tell me either reporters are seeing if what they wrote made it to the site or they are desperate to find someting to write about. Either way, in the permalink I've listed a few of my favorite visitors.

First, over 100 university domains visited the site this week. Some of them I had to look up because I'd never heard of, but the few I knew right away are the ones I'd give a shout-out to here.
UT--Hook 'em!
A&M--Gig 'em!
Baylor--You're going to be in trouble if anybody finds out!
SMU--Anybody want a date me?
Rice--Hey Houston!
UT El Paso--Uhm...I have nothing
NYU--OMG, y'all are smart and stuff.
Harvard--Nice to make your acquaintance
Yale--Can I watch the Greco-Roman wrestling sometime?
Columbia--NYC? Don't you have anything better to do than read blogs? It's NYC!
MIT--Uhm, I don't do math.
UCLA--Dude!
The Citadel--Yum..I used to live across the street from y'all on Hampton Park. I miss the watching y'all jog past my window. As a matter of fact, I used to invite people over to watch the cadets jog past. (Pervert Alert!)

There are tons more, and thanks to all y'all for stopping in.

Media outlets
Cox newspapers, Belo newspapers, The Houston Chronicle, The San Antonio Express-News are all some of my favorite papers and if you'd only send me more stuff you aren't printing I'd gladly post it!

Government domains
You folks in Washington, D.C. are hilarious and I'm only saddened that you don't send me anonymous tips like you do to Wonkette.

And let me just say to both Dell and Apple..y'all could totally sponsor a blogger with some free shit. I'd totally put 'this post created on a Dell Inspiron' or 'posted while listening to my iPod' on every post for a month for y'all. (I'm not kidding)

Seriously, to all the folks that stop by, thanks. This blog is actually hard work for people that have jobs and lives and do it because it's fun. To know that you enjoy the work we do is encouraging. It's also good to know that instead of beating off to bad Internet porn, you're reading about the porn of politics.

Kisses!

The CIA doesn't have a secure server?

And Dell has blocked In the Pink. You're next.

Good luck getting anything "free" from Dell, even with some "free" press.

And Dell totally hasn't blocked the pink...it's one of my routine blog readings at work.
