Dissent to a 51% Mandate
You have to wonder if the dinner would have sold out after she endorsed Chris Bell. I said I would vote for him if she endorsed him and I will.
The more I've thought about it, however, the less I like it. It's not okay for Liz Smith to speak for Ann Richards, but okay for Molly Ivins?
I don't believe Ann Richards couldn't have endorsed someone had she wanted to . The fact is she didn't. You shouldn't speak ill of the dead. You also shouldn't speak for them.
Maybe they should hire a psychic for "after-dinner entertainment" and channel Ann Richards and see what she has to say. Although it might embarrass the hell out of both Molly Ivins and Liz Smith. And Chris Bell.
