Well, at least according to Jason Embry we do. Neither one of us is funny. Jason thinks the only funny political blog in Texas is ITPT. Now, I love me some ITPT, but I especially love the teenage skill level of Jason Embry in his backhanded slam of every other political blog in the state.
One poster has taken the name "Carole Strayhorn's Goldfish," which appears to be a rip-off of "John Cornyn's Box Turtle," a regular contributor to In The Pink Texas, the only political blog in the state that's actually, you know, funny.Texas political blogs may not be funny, but their traffic continues to grow and they have an influence in this state that Jason Embry dreams about.
Jason, leave the snide comments to us...and to In The Pink Texas...it's unbecoming of a journalist of your caliber (*snicker*) to stoop to such editorial asides during a news (*snicker, again*) story.
Anon - #3... I thought that was his goal all along...
hey of course a campiagn blog will have folks blogging on it that are mostly super supportive duh! and yes we all miss Ken Herman. I noticed that it appears that the perry blog has more comments posted then any other political blog in TX is there some meter one can look at on-ine to see?
I loves me some PinkDome AND ITPT. I have links to both on my blog and check in with both daily. I think you do a terrific job here, and you should be proud of yourselves and the hard work that you do.
I love that a post mentioning Jason Embry gets people talking about W. Gardner Selby. Poor Jason, can't even get dissed by my readers when I mention his name three times in a row! He's like the opposite of Beetlejuice.
1. The perryblog confirms what most of us always suspected... Lacking in any humor, platform or wit, the perrycamp is reduced to mutual smirking self-congrats. It's like Perry has surrounded himself with supporters and sychophants who also have to check themselves in every mirror they pass, just to reaffirm how great they are and what a great job they're doing.
Boring.
2. This governor's race is a wasteland, all the way around. Black and Sanders just ought to get into the ring for one final death duel smackdown so we can get it over with. It's deadly dull.
3. I can think of... one ... maybe two? ... Gardner columns I've enjoyed. Unlike someone like, say, Paul Burka or Rick Casey, Gardner never QUITE lands on the conclusion right. I hate to say it, but I'm beginning to miss Dave McNeeley. I definitely miss the steady hand of Ken Herman.
Oddly, I think Gardner would fit in quite well at the Perry campaign. (See 1.)
