So Long Smilin' Bob

Last night 750 people attended a farewell dinner to thank retiring Rep. Bob Hunter for his service. We here at PinkDome would also like to thank Rep. Hunter for being a classy, principled statesman who made us smile. Rep. Hunter, you'll be missed, we wish you a speedy recovery from your cancer treatment and a happy retirement.

Screw Rep Bob Hunter. He is one of the fakest individuals up at the capitol. Which is saying alot. He lives in my building and won't say a word to ya if ya say "hello" to him.

Won't even acknowledge your existence.

I love how he is all jokey and yearns to be the "funniest man in the room" when he is at work, but when crossing paths with him at the mail box or sharing an elevator with him off the grounds of the capitol he is quiet as a mouse.

Plus he was so so funny when he voted for the Defense of Marriage act that passed here during one of the last few recent sessions. Nothing like being all friendly and "oh shucks" like when discriminating against the gays.

Fuck you Bob Hunter and good riddance.

Ouch, someone didn't get their invitation to the going away party.

You may not be a Bob Hunter fan, but it looks like 750 people in his hometown liked him. Pretty impressive, especially when the standard fare in Austin is, "No longer in office? Don't let the door...."
