Republican nominee for SD-7 Dan Patrick was at the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce meeting. He went on a tirade about immigrants, saying that "Hispanics are sensitive to racial profiling and don't want to be pulled over just because of the color of their skin". Shucks, how then are we gonna unfairly target minorities? Well, "The solution, he said, is not for whites alone to figure out...'If someone can't speak English, it probably would be a clue that they're illegal'". Oh ok, I get it now. Pull someone over when they have brown skin, then give them an English test before you profile them. Got it.

Later, during an argument with a council member, Dan Patrick said "Well, I think I'm right because the majority of people in this district voted for me." So there ya go, a majority of the people in his district voted for him, granting him an infallible status.

For the record, there are 697,309 people in his district, 505,202 that are of voting age. 28,870 voted for him in the primary. Hardly a majority by any standard. While we're at it, according to census data, 27,523 in his district don't speak english well. By his math, that's a majority of his district that he wants to arrest.
