You can't make this shit up

A candidate for the North Carolina Supreme Court called her opponent a "slave returning to the plantation" and then said he was an "uncle Tom" causing such an uproar that the Democratic Chairman has endorsed the Republican candidate. Both the GOP Chair and Dem Chair have called her 'mentally unstable' and asked voters to not vote for crazy in North Carolina. God, I miss the South.

*UPDATE* Did someone for the Rachel for Justice site totally comment saying they tracked our IP address? I can't decipher the retardation in the comment, but if so...track away dorkwads. See comments for explanation of my confusion.

Click the extended entry to see what a dumbass this Dem from NC is. She's running to be a JUDGE, y'all!!

She posts and answers hate mail!!

Your website does not help you know. People want judges to be capable of fairness...or maybe I'm naive.

Dear Mr. Kepley:

Thank you for your campaign advice.

How many campaigns have you run? Have you ever ran for office yourself in the hope of bringing a bit of change for the better to our society?

No? Then, I will consider your advice after you have done so and not before.

You are not naïve, ignorant, perhaps. Education is the cure for ignorance, but there is none for stupidity.

Cordially,

Rachel

WOW, way to alienate voters by calling them ignorant and stupid. LOVE HER and her mental instability!!

Campaign tip: Try to avoid situations which prompt offers for the candidate to 'submit herself to any psychiatric evaluation, any place, any time, anywhere, by the best psychiatric personnel in the country'

She should've run here in Texas. She must be John Devine's soul mate

From her website (click my name):

In his statement, he contended that I was a racist and that I had called Mr. Robinson a slave. I did not. I said his behavior was like that of a slave. He should understand the use of a simile, but perhaps that was overlooked in his elementary education.

Someone who had read the statement, understood it and suggested that what I meant to say was that Mr. Robinson's behavior was like that of an "Uncle Tom." That was exactly the point, although I did not use those words.

I offer another simile, which is less racially charged, to describe the behavior. How many of us have a pet, maybe a cat or dog, that eats and then disgorges its meal because it ate grass or has a hairball? Sometimes, the owner is not immediately aware of the incident and the animal will return to the area and eat the food that it vomited up and so we have the expression of an animal returning to its own vomit. The behavior in question was like that.

I was at the 2005 NC GOP convention. I saw how Mr. Robinson was treated. It was as disgusting then as it is now. Try as I might, I cannot fathom how an individual who was treated like that would go back to the very same people now for approval. "Facts are stubborn things," as John Adams said. You can characterize it in whatever simile, metaphor or analogy you wish, but the facts remain the same regarding the behavior.

I am neither a racist nor a bigot. As I stated last year in a statement, I am half Jewish. I have been to Holocaust concentration camps in Germany and museums in the United States. I have seen the horrors the Jews suffered in WWII. This kind of genocide must NEVER happen again, whether it is directed at Jews, or between the Hutus and Tutsis of Africa, or the Serbs, Croats and Bosnians or any other ethnic group. And the same is true for religious intolerance or slavery of the kind we had here in the US, although I am sad to say that it still goes on in other countries. It is wrong and must not be allowed.

I don't know if I would rather be called a slave or a vomiting dog. Wait, a vomiting dog that goes back and eats up its own vomit? I pick the slave.

Whom the Gods would destroy they first make mad.
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

On 9/11, one of my colleagues and I were watching videotape of the planes hitting the World Trade Center earlier that day. He asked my response to this surreal atrocity. My concern, I replied, was twofold: (1) Americans were now going to have to do some very deep soul-searching to discover why so many people in the world have such an intense hatred for America that they could do this, and (2) I despaired of what the long-term implications of this would be.

The attack was of such horrific dimensions that when I turned on my television that morning
