OK, did they just bring up the shit from the regular session's HB 2? Random ass "reforms", and Shapiro's office isn't giving out info on it yet. Any of yall know what's goin' on?
*UPDATE*
8:40 - CSHB 1 passes unanimously in the Senate and a whole bunch of shit I don't understand happened to it. Go read QR, they're alot smarter than me. Apparently there was "a giddy round of applause and laughter from the audience". Well that explains why nothing makes sense, everyone is stoned off their ass.

Lots of good stuff that almost killed the bill.
Get er done. Save the reforms for next session.
lots of lube
31-0. The deal appears to be done. Thank goodness.
No, RockStar. This was needed to be able to get Ds on board and get it passed through. I suspect some of this will also provide cover for Ds in the House as well.
filibuster after conference!
Gonzo is such a joke, Glad he will be gone.
yeah but now you've got Dan Patrick to deal with.
Did shapiro make her outfit out of a potato sack?
Anon - I think it's a body bag. Is she wearing a toe tag?
Is there such a thing as a sober senator?
Sober Senator...You should have been around with Bill Moore, Oscar Mauzy, Peyton Mc"Good Night", Tom Creighton etc...Then they were lead by Lt. Gov Mr. "Hobby Rule". They couldn"t meet after lunch any day.
Incisive analysis as always.
Mc"Good Night"....never heard Senator McKnight called that.
What are the crappy reforms resurrected from the old HB2?
Mandated school start dates the House voted down before...
Mandated school board elections the House voted down before...
District-wide elections to approve eveything a school board does rather than letting them do what they were ELECTED to do...
It's just a bunch more state meddling in local business because they don't think anyone else should be allowed to make a decision for themselves locally. It's centralization of power under the ruling class.
Not true; if you look at CSHB 1 you'll see it (also in Shapiro's SB 1). Actually lots of good stuff in it:
1) Increases math and science requirements in the RHSP to four units each
2) Establishes centers that can study unified data sets from TEA and THECB
3) A bunch of measures that link high school with college readiness.
