Terrible Talton tidbit

Does everyone remember Robert Talton?

You know, the gay-bashing state Rep. that wanted to ban gay and lesbian couples from serving as foster parents? The guy that had state troopers stationed outside his Capitol office so that they couldn't get inside and contaminate everything with their vile, dirty, gay germs? The one that PinkDome has previously referred to as "cockface?" [btw, I entertained the thought of doing a photoshop of him using that nickname, but quickly decided against it, as the chance of it being safe for work was zero.]

Well, it turns out some people actually like him. FortBendNow tells us that:

Two organizers of Saturday's Harris County GOP candidates' forum say state representatives Robert Talton and Charlie Howard are emerging as front-runners in the campaign for retiring U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay's November ballot slot.

Poor, poor District 22. They potentially go from Tom DeLay to Robert Talton. If that's not reason to support Nick Lampson, I don't know what is.

The precinct chairs, wingnuts all, love Bobby. Talton being selected might turn out well for Lampson, since moderate Repubs would be more inclined to vote for him than for the Tallyman.

What about all those rumors that Howard was ill?

Don't Mess w/ Pink at May 9, 2006 1:59 PM

Last thing anyone wants to accuse a Republican of being is sympathetic to gays. Take a look at http://doublecheckster.blogspot.com/

Doublecheck at May 9, 2006 2:07 PM

Talton running for CD-22 means a great progressive named Janette Sexton runs not against him but for an open seat.

http://www.sexton4district144.com

That would be an excellent development, because no way a right-wing freak like Talton beats Lampson.

PDiddie at May 9, 2006 2:59 PM

What happened to Mike Jackson? He was drooling over the prospect of being appointed to replace DeLay on the ballot. Even voted last week against the HB3 tax bill to make sure he would have the wingnut support. Now he doesn;t even seem to be in the running? And what will his Senate District constituents say in two years when he asks them again for their votes after sedning them the message this year that he was tired of his current job and wanted to go to Washington?
