Someone Else Is Talking To Blogs

So an odd thing happened yesterday. A State Rep (not Pena) went out of his way and set up a conference call with bloggers on a proposed piece of legislation. Rep. Trey Martinez-Fischer came up with an idea for lowering gas prices during the summer months. Not only that, he went and researched the hell out of it and even found the money for it. That's not even the most impressive part. He's launched an amazing PR initiative to get word out, and for that I want to commend him.

There's a well designed website, an actual blog, and useful links like the Department of Energy and GasBuddy. He's done a great job of getting media coverage, and he's even reaching out to blogs!

For the specifics on the legislation you can visit his website, or you can check out Kuff, BOR, Matt and Capitol Annex for more coverage. This is a great new approach at getting statewide attention, thanks to Rep. Martinez-Fischer for thinking outside of the box.

A better idea than a silly temporary gas tax holiday - let's nationalize all the U.S. oil companies! By eliminating the need to make a profit (remember everyone squawking about Exxon's profit?), the new U.S. governmentally owned Oil Company could lower the price of oil by the amount of its profits.

Viva the coming revolution of the working man! The people’s government will own everything! Down with evil corporations, wealthy pig CEO's and rich people!!

So the reverse of what we have now then? Have the government own the oil companies instead of the oil companies owning the government? It's a thought...
