Oh Dewhurst...You did it again...

Senate passes out Number 2 with just the tiniest bit of lipstick on the pig. Property tax relief. The pussydom of the state legislature should be forever cemented after 6? sessions of fantastic cowardice and short-sightedness and partisianship and apparent Tupperware parties they must have while wearing cute little dresses they bought at Saks.

Real leadership is about real courage and real convictions to principle. Too bad we haven't seen anything like that in a State that basically screams we're a bunch of macho maverick f-off men that can lick any problem thrown at us. In reality we've found out we're a state that's elected a bunch of people that couldn't legislate their way out of paper bag.

Ah, so proud. The Democrats in the Senate got together and created a shoulder-to-shoulder stance with a release that included such major burns as: “We came to this session hoping that the focus would be on improving public schools. Instead, Governor Perry’s call focused only on taxes.

Remember the other day when we said we loved it when Dewhurst talked so bravely about this not just being about taxes, but about improving public schools? Remember how we believed him and took off our panties and threw them up there to him? Remember just like last session he fucked us over and we still came back for more?

I feel so cheap. At least I'm not alone, I bet there's a lot of you in the Capitol that have felt the exact same way.

(Note: I wrote this immediately after waking up from a Xanax coma. I think it makes sense, but syntax and such should not be graded due to the serious fogginess of my brain. On the other hand if you like it, more Xanax-induced coma postings will follow.)

Fool you once, shame on you. Fool you twice, shame on you. Welcome to politics.

Maybe I'm missing something here...the Rs are passing a D plan (Sharp) that moves school funding from local unequal sources that directly tax people to statewide equal sources that tax businesses. This is bad, why?

None of the new money goes to schools. And HBs 2 and 3 are a long way from the Perry-Sharp Plan that was introduced.

The further you get away from the property tax, the further you get away from the court room which is where Democrats go when they can't win votes.

New money for schools = across the board pay raise without regard to competence.
