Last Call For Signatures

So you sat out the primaries? Well today is the last day to sign and turn in petitions to get independent candidates on the ballot for governor. If you haven't done it yet, go do it because otherwise you'll be an apathetic asshole who didn't participate in democracy. Go here to see where you can sign Strayhorn's and here to sign Kinky's. Remember, freedom isn't free.

On that note, more Americans went to see a Robin Williams flick about an RV than went to see "United 93". "Stick It", the gymnast teeny-bopper flick came damn close to edging it out too. What's more American than making a movie that capitalizes on people's emotions a few years after a terrible tragedy? Americans not even bothering to go see it.

The Greens are trying to get folks on the ballot too.

I'm not sure I can bring myself to vote for Chris Bell, or Kinky. I won't vote for the Republicans.

Can I just say that if you sign anything or vote for anything called the Green Party in the State of Texas you are a fucking moron? Good, cause I just said it.

I met Kinky today after getting some Pho across from the UT campus. He didn't have an entourage or anything....very approachable.

He was wearing an ass ugly peral snap though..

And if I signed (I didn't) the petition, or voted for a Green candidate (I might) in Texas, I'd be a moron because...[and this is where you fill in the blank.]

It *can't* be any more stupid than the 10 for 10 campaign a couple of years ago.

You'd be considered a moron because you are wanting to make giant strides toward liberalism in a state where most people view liberalism as equivalent to Satanism.

It's a platitude, I know, but you gotta crawl before you can walk and walk before you can run. You can't expect to change things so drastically. Do it in shifts, not strides. Vote Blue until you can afford to live in vermont, then vote Green or Indy when it can actually get someone elected.

But by all means, vote Green in Texas. Just know it's dissecting the liberal vote more than shifting the state to the left.
