Jose, can you see? part dos

You only thought this issue was over with!
We read this item this morning: Think Progress: FACT CHECK: U.S. Government Commissioned Spanish-Language Star-Spangled Banner in 1919, and thought that was interesting given Bush's pro-English-National-Anthem-only stance, and comments given by members of the administration that the anthem has only ever been sung in English. Now we find this juicy tidbit: Think Progress: National Anthem Sung In Spanish At First Bush Inaugural. (Yes, we like our Think Progress!)

So, the Spanish version is only okay for the inauguration . . . or perhaps Jon Secada is the only one allowed to sing the national anthem in Spanish? We hope not. Jon Secada is so 1992.

update: Now they are saying that Secada sang "America the Beautiful" in Spanish and the national anthem in English. But still. . . Jon Secada?
