Don't fence me in.

The idiotic Senate approved putting 370 miles of triple-layered fencing along the US/Mexican border. How pointless and ridiculous. Eventual citizenship was passed in the Senate on the same day. It boggles the mind that the day our Senate approves something so fractious as a border fence, they take a positive step in the other direction and approve eventual citizenship for some immigrants.

On kinda the same theme, NPR did a story this morning on the current guest worker program, which doesn't seem to run very expeditiously.

They are not immigrants. They're illegal aliens. You do know that right?

We don't owe those people shit.

Ok, the whole fence is a dumb idea. Having just a short piece of fence (and compared to the whole border, this is), is even dumber.

Even cattle will wander around the end of a fence.

Damn Mexican cattle will be ruining our whole country!

People figured how to scale the Berlin wall - and they had snipers! This is just DUMB!

Yucca at May 18, 2006 9:07 AM

Berlin Wall kept people in, this keeps them out. Big difference.

Picking on a bunch of extremely poor people? Is that what you wanna be doing when Jesus comes back?

JoeDirt at May 18, 2006 9:44 AM

Snrub - exactly how is that a big difference?

Who is going to be actually building this wall? Let's think on that ironic fact.

bluebonnet at May 18, 2006 10:58 AM

I agree bluebonnet.... if we force them to use only "legal" labor... the wall will be finished....mmmmm... NEVER...lol!
