Likeable guy. I worked on a campaign against him the first time around, however, I think he's about the best thing we can hope for around here. Don't always agree with him, but he is truly a straight talker. Wish we could get a Dem in Tyler, but I'm realistic. Eltife isn't half bad.

Ow! My eyes! My eyes!

You have got to warn us before linking to such hellish web design.

Well, It is Tyler, Texas....that should be a given that hideous-ness is coming.

I just wish they could fix how damn long it takes to load... what's the deal with that?

Perhaps the hosting services in Tyler, TX still use dial-up.

"If you made all hiring decisions based on who was the best teacher and the football team went 0-and-10 that year, your tenure may be a little shorter. Those are the tough decisions."

May be shorter? Geez, if the football team goes 5-5, you're toast. Might as well get your Masters in Admin and find an assisstant principal job. And 13 coaches for a team? What's acceptable? 11? 10?

It should be noted that the owners of the Tyler Morning Telegraph gave Eltife up to $10,000 in contributions for his senate campaign in 2004.

Eltife has done a good job for us. I was scared. I campaigned like heck for Sadler, but Eltife has worked to prove me wrong. While he and I do the cell phone thing on important education issues, he does not require near as much attention as another Tylerite (Leo Freakin' Berman!!!).

I would work for Eltife next time around, even though Sadler would have had all of this school finance crap settled already.

As a matter of fact, I think my ISD has 13 varsity coaches. I pointed that out one day in a meeting and the AD called me that night at 10:30 to tell me I was wrong. He has 11. Whooo. Load off of my shoulders.
