Reckoning Day For Smokers

Well not really, they've been threatening to raise the price on a pack of smokes for a long time now, basically a nickel for every cigarette. But here's a new angle for the debate, some fun stats from TexasWeekly:

In order to get the amount of money from the cigarrette tax that they want, Texans will have to smoke more than 26,636 cigarettes per minute every minute of every day of the year.

If laid end to end, those cigarettes would wrap around the world 28 times. The state would get a nickel for every three inches of that line.

Three inches? Sure it isn't six inches?

FUCK! Why the hell did I decide to quit this week?!?!?!?! Soon I could be smoking for all the little boys and girls! If only I'd known that soon my lighting up would be supporting public education I might have put off the fateful decision.

Oh well...
