Well not really, they've been threatening to raise the price on a pack of smokes for a long time now, basically a nickel for every cigarette. But here's a new angle for the debate, some fun stats from TexasWeekly:
In order to get the amount of money from the cigarrette tax that they want, Texans will have to smoke more than 26,636 cigarettes per minute every minute of every day of the year.
If laid end to end, those cigarettes would wrap around the world 28 times. The state would get a nickel for every three inches of that line.
Maybe if you smoke Virginia Slims 120s. Or 220s.
i can't for the life of me seem to spell cigarette right, i keep trying to fix it, i give up.
This.Is.Their.Brilliant.Idea.
FUCK! Why the hell did I decide to quit this week?!?!?!?! Soon I could be smoking for all the little boys and girls! If only I'd known that soon my lighting up would be supporting public education I might have put off the fateful decision.
Oh well...
FBW - or Capri menthols. I have a coupon.
You would be smoking for the property tax owners RawHide
I say get the kiddos hooked on cigs. This way they can pay for their own damn education!
:D
that's some serious math. my head hurts now.
i need a cigarette.
As a shareholder in Altria, I would fully support the placement of cigarette machines in schools. After all, it's for the children, right?
In fact, I KNOW the company would pay for the machines and even discount the packs!

The highlight for me was the suit worn by the first dog in space which was inside the cabinet. It looked very comical but was in fact genuine and not just a corset with a plastic snout stuck on top.
