Catty. Chatty. And Occasionally Trashy.

Hol' up a second

We revisited the HD47 race and against our better judgement listened to the AAS podcast of the debate. Alex Castano and Bill Welch face off in what sounds like an elevator. Seriously, there is whooshing and constant beeping as if we're riding up and down in the Frost Bank Building. It fits because the amateurish nature of these two 'tards is unbearable! Castano uses a gossipy story to say that Bill Welch is pro-abortion and then he continues to say that he's the true social conservative and even Rick Perry and Susan Combs say so and are helping him, even though they haven't endorsed him yet. (Seriously...this dude's a total 'tard). He says he is the kind of person needed as the future of the Republican Party.

Then when Gardner asked him about the credit card debt problem, he says he's working to pay that off. It's funny here because Bill let's him just go ahead and dig a big hole here. He counters that Alex has made some outrageous claims during this debate and then it really sounds like Alex starts to cry. A little sobbing actually. Uhm, Alex, there's no crying in Politics!

You can listen here.

UPDATE: There is video. At 12:48 into the stream is the 'choking up' moment. Gardner looks very uncomfortable. Bill just nodded. As someone that can get emotional and not be embarrassed about it, I loved to see how uncomfortable it made the other people in the room.

There's lots of crying in politics. In fact, I sob myself to sleep every night.

That's a reporter's dream... to have a candidate cry during a debate. Is there video?

Margaritaville at March 30, 2006 4:13 PM

No. We should ask Gardner Selby if he took a picture.
