What what?

Rumor is that Cheney will retire after the 2006 elections. What can we say? "About damn time"? "The damage has already been done"? "Who really cares anymore?" I would link straight to the article, but apparently everybody and their dog is trying to read about it.

Silly, silly, silly. Big Dick Cheney is going to be the nominee in '08.

Yeah. Like he'll go quietly.

If you want the antichrist to go away, you have to throw holy water on him.

I've been hearing those same things since 2002. Everytime he has a heart attack or says something demonstratably stupid, people start talking about him stepping down.

He really is almost like another president, though, and I don't think the White House will want to give him up while they are still foundering on most of their agenda.

Can you imagine the Republican blood bath that changing VP's would create in 06 or 07? Every R in DC would think they suddenly become the presumptive 2008 candidate for President. They would tear themselves apart to get ahold of that position. It would be fun to watch. What worries me is that they get it out of the way before the primaries.
