P.S. I Love You

You know whenever you're going through a bad breakup and you sit down and ramble on some incoherent diatribe on why things should stay the way they were? Why you are still worth staying with, why you never "actually" cheated, yadda yadda yadda.

It generally gets scribbled out at the point where you're past any point of reconciliation, and it's some lame last ditch effort to stay together because you've just barely realized how nice things were and how bad you messed things up.

Well Tom Delay wrote that same letter to his Republican constituents. It's an 8 page, tear-stained letter written in script, asking for support, and distancing himself from Jack Abramoff. Quoth Delay:

"I met with him only occasionally, in fact less frequently than numerous others who brought issues before Congress -- never did he receive preferential treatment."

Delay went on to say that Abramoff meant nothing to him, it was just a fling, and he was thinking of his constituents the whole time. He wants the voters to remember the good times, how there's so much history there. Yeah Tommy, I think it's too little, too late.
