Kristi is a great person and has been a great friend. What she did was bad - and in no way am I condoning her behavior - and she knows and recognizes what she did was bad. The thing that gets me about politics is how we are so quick to judge and gossip about the bad things that happen to good people.

She has a serious mental health issue - which should make us talk about the current lack of focus/time/money/education on mental health issues, not mock something she cannot control.

We all have crap in our closets, so we shouldn’t be hypocritical. Politics, and subsquently our government, SHOULD be about the issues involved in helping those who need assistance - in whatever capacity, not “let’s mock everyone who doesn’t have it as good as I think I do.”

Sandra, it IS unfortunate for her. I'm sure she is a good person and I believe in mental health issues. But, this is a site about 'mocking everyone' all the time. I'm not really mocking her, I'm mocking the quote in the newspaper. I'm mocking the white collar definition of stealing versus the 'ghetto' definition of stealing. THAT is what we should mock...openly and freely! Thanks for standing up for your friend. Hope she gets help. I have a great therapist by the way!

Sandra, you're right on target and a good friend. This isn't a shot at the blog because the blog is about being immature and fun, but your point about compassion is a good one. It is certain that Republicans were high fiving the misfortune of your friend just because she is a Democrat. To them I say, what would Jesus do? And I'm not talking about the character in the Big Lebowski. Their values are certainly not very golden rule quality.

Give me a break. People gave their hard earned money to re-elect Congressman Doggett and Kristi admists she stole it. Everything else is bullshit and excuses.
