Oh The Irony

Here's a good chuckle to help shake y'all's hangover off. Bush was in Maryland on a Republican retreat when he ushered the reporters out of the room to speak privately to lawmakers. After the reporters left, he began speaking about the eavesdropping shenanigans going on. The only thing was the mikes were left on, and reporters back at the White House were able to eavesdrop in on the speech. AP story.

Seriously, you think this was an accident? Read the transcript of what Bush said - it's all soundbites. If I was a gambling man, I would be more apt to wager that this was a set-up intended to show what a straight-shooter ole Bush is - leave the microphones on, he's got nothing to hide! That such a carefully run organization as the Bush/Rove White House "accidentally" left a mic on in a closed meeting is just too much for this native Texan to swallow.
