Today is National Patriot Act Call-in Day. We've gotten emails from who knows how many groups asking us to do our part. Here's the ALA's page with call-in info. We're gonna feel pretty silly calling Hutchison and Cornyn, since they won't do diddly with it, but what the hell? Perhaps they will support the Senate's own version, since they are in the Senate. But we just never know with those two.

On the same note, we noticed something for the first time when we were at our local branch library the other day (looking in vain for this book). Standing at the catalog computer, we saw a note taped onto the counter warning that because of the Patriot Act, the government may keep tabs on what you are checking out from the library.
