Thursday News Roundup

- The NSA has told an ex-intelligence officer that he is not allowed to testify in front of Congress "because of the secrecy of the programs involved" [the always trustworthy Washington Times]. So he can't speak about the secret program the government has been using to spy on us, because it's secret.

- Newt Gingrich knows what he's talking about when he says the system is out of whack. He sure made use of said out-of-whack system when he was still "in power". Is there still buzz about him running for Prez?

- Again, the NYTimes tells us what we already know: Texas Redistricting Is One More Hurdle for DeLay. Well, redistricting is a problem, but doesn't an indictment mean anything these days?

- Longhorn Singles.com has no friends at UT. The Supreme Court says that UT is allowed to block unsolicited e-mails from their IP [Wired News].

And that's the way it is.
