A little slow on the uptake.

There's a saying in Texas (forgive me if I get it wrong) about closing the barn door after you let the horse out. Do y'all know what I'm talking about? Speaker Hastert is quoted today as saying, "Now is the time for action," referring to the sudden desperate need for lobbying reforms.

Nothing like the GOP to keep ahead of the curve! Shouldn't you have all tried to implement reforms when you saw Tom DeLay and Bob Ney skipping off with wads of cash in their pockets? What Hastert really means is that since everybody got caught we are forced to act like we are surprised and outraged at corruption, but secretly we're just pissed off we have to lay low on the golfing trips and hookers for a while.

You know, no one ever thinks of the poor, hard working girls and boys who need the job security of a corrupt Republican caucus. Shame on Hastert for trying to put these good and decent Americans out of jobs.

HO'S NEED TO WORK! How else will my bitches be able to buy me a new car?

This doesn't mean they're going to stop playing golf and hiring hookers, it just means they'll have to pay for them for awhile.
