Bill O'Reilly Retracts His Stupid Remarks About Plano...Kinda

Bill O'Reilly caused the Plano School District Officials to get their panties in a knot when he said that students were banned from wearing red and green. When the officials demanded a retraction he admitted he was wrong, but then went on to say that there was bias. Yep, Plano is a hotbed of anti-Christian discrimination. *eye roll*

My favorite part?
"One thing that we've stood by all along is that you are certainly entitled to your own opinions, and we respect that," Karla Oliver, executive director for government and community relations at the school district said. "But you're not entitled to your own facts."

and then, "It's amazing because that's not a liberal crazy area" like Berkeley, Calif., or Austin, O'Reilly said.

No idea - we're as confused as you are.

bluebonnet at December 21, 2005 10:47 AM

drinks_at_the_stephen_f at December 21, 2005 11:00 AM

O' Really wears more makeup than a drag queen. Ask gayinmidland he knows.....

Wonk at December 21, 2005 11:07 AM

where did he run off to, anyway?

drinks_at_the_stephen_f at December 21, 2005 11:15 AM

He went to see Broke Back Mountain.

Wonk at December 21, 2005 11:45 AM

HA! THAT movie showing in Midland? HA! That will be the day! When hell freezes over or when Bush gets an earing -whichever comes first!

And I still think O'Reilly is a pig. He is actually getting much worse in his right-wing insanity. What is so sad is that he says he is fair and balanced and looks at all sides.

gayinmidland at December 21, 2005 1:31 PM

ITPT should be up and running whenever my renewal payment goes through. Word to the wise: never, EVER register a domain name from a company in Australia. It's like a whole other country.

Pink Lady at December 21, 2005 1:33 PM

Ever? Did you have crack with your breakfast taco today?

Wonk at December 21, 2005 1:36 PM

i'm dying without ITPT. And gayinmidland, the good news is that nobody has believed O'Reilly's 'fair and balanced' bullshit for a very, very, VERY long time.

drinks_at_the_stephen_f at December 21, 2005 1:40 PM

LMAO@whole other country. PL, you gotta quit spending your husband's money and bouncin those checks. "when the payment goes through." Sure.

lurkette at December 21, 2005 1:44 PM

Yes, I'm with drinks. Glad to hear ITPT'll be back up soon.

bluebonnet at December 21, 2005 1:45 PM

I think O'Reilly is fair and balanced... he does a good job of balancing the POV of the far right with the POV of the bleeding edge right. It's hard work and he deserves some credit for that!

Speaking of the right wing and their talking heads, does anyone else laugh when Patty Robertson gets his panties in a twist about being called a televangelist?

original TREY at December 21, 2005 1:48 PM

LOL and if they show that movie in midland, i want pictures of the audience.

drinks_at_the_stephen_f at December 21, 2005 1:49 PM

i had no idea that pissed him off. AWESOME. If anyone besides o'reilly deserves to have his panties in a wad, it's pat robertson.

drinks_at_the_stephen_f at December 21, 2005 1:53 PM

You know, if God is into retribuition, and Pat Robertson is not a sinner, as he claims, then why did God make him so ugly?

Don't Mess w/ Pink at December 21, 2005 2:16 PM

I'd imagine the audience for Brokeback Mountain in Far West Texas would be made up mostly of wives trying to understand why their husbands spend more time with their buddies than with them.

caleaelena at December 21, 2005 4:55 PM

Pink, that's an easy one! God has a wicked good sense of humor and he likes to hear laughter. How else do you explain Todd Baxter's haircut?

Honestly, Patty's biggest problem is that he's a creepy slut. I wish he'd understand that 'no means no' and quit calling me. I'm soooo not into scat but still he begs and whines like a dog.

Maybe I should take one for the team and donkey punch him.

original TREY at December 21, 2005 8:31 PM

Bill O'Reilly is the kind of guy who, if a school had a policy banning gang colors, would start a gang whose colors were red and green and then accuse the school of being anti-Christmas. Punk-ass chump.

Boddhisattva at December 22, 2005 9:46 AM

I am delighted to hear ITPT is coming back from its exile Down Under. Merry Christma-Hannu-Kwanzaa-kah!

The Great Googly Moogly at December 22, 2005 9:54 AM

Still trying to convince the Aussies that my credit card is not maxed out. IT'S CHRISTMAS - GIVE A GIRL A BREAK. This is beyond humiliating.

(PD - sorry to hijack the comments. I'm experiencing severe blogdrawal.)

Pink Lady at December 22, 2005 11:05 AM

JohnCornyn'sBoxTurtle at December 22, 2005 1:17 PM
