Austin ISD approved a $519.5 million bond program last year and has started building new schools. They are currently in the nomination process for possible names for these new schools. Random names and topics have been thrown out there as possible names for the schools, ranging from Ted Nugent to Troy Aikman to Cool School. Hell, someone even suggested ABC Pleasant to be named after the alphabet. C'mon, Ted Nugent, the alphabet...they've got nothing on us. Reeling off our Best Of Austin Awards from last week, I suggest someone throw out the name PinkDome Elementary. I mean, all the bitching we did about school finance over the last 10 months should qualify us for something, right? Right?
