Ice, Ice Baby

Yeah, it's a lame post title. This article on FEMA and how it sent trucks with ice on unnecessary tours of the country is not so lame, though: NYTimes: Stumbling Storm-Aid Effort Put Tons of Ice on Trips to Nowhere.

It is ironic that this is one case where FEMA overprepared instead of the underprepared way they dealt with the rest of Hurricane Katrina. Your tax dollars at work . . . be sure to read the part where it talks about how much extra money it cost for the trucker's extra mileage and the daily storage cost. Yowza.

A driver who works for my brother's trucking company brought a load of water to the Astrodome, and the ingrates wouldnt unload the truck. So their dispatch told him to take it someplace 20 miles away and put it in a secured lot.
