How Dry I am

Congressman Kevin Brady, R-The Woodlands, was arrested for DUI in South Dakota over the weekend. Ok, drinking and driving we get. Being in South Dakota? That...we'll never understand.

He graduated from the University of South Dakota - and it was homecoming weekend. That sort of explains why he was there. The big question - why did Texans elect someone who went to USD to represent them in Congress?

Because he put his name on the ballot with an (R) next to it. The Woodlands is a Republican bastion north of Houston. From what I understand, he's not all that bad a guy and he even works and plays well with Democrats.

Of all the right-wing, Houston area, Tom Delay Republicans, I always liked Kevin Brady best. Not saying much, true, but he doesn't seem like such a bad guy. I seem to recall he voted against the bankruptcy bill and the abolition of the estate tax earlier this year. In any case, this can't be a good thing for him.

Talk radio in Houston today said the story will be dead by evening. Incidentally Brady was in the Jasper/Newton area surveying damage with a bullet-proof vest on after a death threat.

Story says he was pulled over for headlight issue - not anything driving related. I wouldn't be surprised if BAC is under 0.08.

Last note, he sponsored CAFTA earlier this summer.

The great think about the prez is that he's both a coke-head AND a drunk.
