"Rick, George already did this photo opp. Find your own, lazy bitch." Karl Rove told me when he saw this.

Such Hatred from PD.

You obviously don't understand campaigns. Not to worry, at some point they are forced to do some policy. Unfortunately it's usually entirely too late. Oh well, nighty night.

Just like the pol on the left, Governor Perry will get a similar bounce in the polls because of his leadership on hurricanes. This iis now the dominant and national theme that many Texans will remember Perry by.

Dems should start planning for 2010. This puppy is done.

shockedandsaddened at September 26, 2005 1:44 AM

As GW gazes wistfully onto the destruction, Rick focuses all the attention on himself. He's even got a bigger window and a better view. But it's still all about Rick.

Yeah, right! Bill White and Robert Eckels have publicly stated otherwise. If you ask them (and about 2.5 million other people) Rick Perry should have made sure that there were adequate fuel supplies and he didn't.

Oh puh-leeze Marie.

Please THIS, MoFo.

You can't be serious. The Governor of any state hit by a natural disaster had damn sure better use whatever resources he has to tour the damage and get those images out through the press. How else would people see the devastation and be motivated to donate their time, money, etc.

You really are just bitter that the only coverage Ding Bell can garner is a slam piece in the AAS by Kelso. Has any other challenger made an attempt to help those in need? Perry has this election wrapped up.

Dean at September 26, 2005 1:05 PM

Who gives a crap about the Statesman? It's just one big homage to UT Sports. And the wrecks on I-35.

Marie at September 26, 2005 1:15 PM

Uhh....I guess Bell does, seeing as though he requested the interview. The quality of the Austin paper doesn't change the fact that Kinky, Grandma, and Bell have failed to get ANY coverage for their plans to help hurricane victims.

I guess you had better hope Mayor White runs if you want to see a Dem challenger able to build on favorable press; but we both know he's too smart to end his political career so early.

Dean at September 26, 2005 1:30 PM

FIRST of all, Perry allowed vehicles to stay on the road w/o safety inspections. Result - 23 elderly people died in a bus explosion. His brilliant suggestion for a better evacuation plan? To build more roads. He's stupid and so are the people who work for, vote for and defend him.

Marie at September 26, 2005 2:50 PM

Nice response..."you defend Perry, so you're a big dumb-dumb." Good luck trying to find convincing reasons to vote for Bell. You'll need it.

Dean at September 26, 2005 5:47 PM

My bad - I meant to say you're FUCKING stupid.

Marie at September 26, 2005 6:17 PM

Two things you can try when you can't manage to defend your own position: 1-Change the subject. 2-Fling personal insults.

newswatching at September 27, 2005 8:52 AM

Good point newswatching...as perfectly illustrated by the 2004 elections.

stinkymutt at September 27, 2005 10:45 PM
