New D for Lite Gov?

The Startlegram is talking about this guy, Tony Buzbee, a 37-year-old lawyer, former chairman of the Galveston County Democratic Party and former Marine Corps captain, running for Lieutenant Governor. Anyways, a quick Google search proves that, he is, indeed, a lawyer. I need to work on my internet sleuthing. In the meantime, does anyone else know anything about him?

"Tony Buzbee, a 37-year-old lawyer and former chairman of the Galveston County Democratic Party, said the state's GOP leaders are spending too much time fighting among themselves and too little time solving problems like school finance. " In my opinion, they are spending too much time trying to solve school finance. Go on, get out of town, take a breather, drink a cocktail, & let someone else deal with the mess.

Buzbee ran a fairly decent campaign against Larry Taylor in 2002. The numbers in that district are huge gop and Buzbee did ok in what I consider the worst year for D's. He's an attractive candidate for D's, but Lt. Guv may be a bit of a stretch unless the $$$ magically appears.

We now know that his opponent in that House race had tens of thousands of dollars in illegal corporate cash from DeLay's TRMPAC to spend.

The money has magically appeared for him--he's rich as shit. He spent $200,000 of his own money in HD 24 in 2002 and has only made more since then. Currently he's litigating a $300 million case. I wouldn't worry about that at all...

And the word is that the GOP may even field someone else against Dewhurst (or at least be open to a challenger) because the infighting and animosity between him, Perry and Craddick is so bad.

Whoa, hold on. I know many of you may not want to hear or accept this, but of the R's, Dewhurst has been one of the best. Good on environmental issues, not letting anything get TOO extremist. Give the guy some credit. In that Senate, nothing has passed that would give you major heartburn (as opposed to plain old heartburn). It could be so much worse. (Yes, I realise the "so much worse" argument is tired.) But. It could be so much worse! Signed, Pollyanna, f/lk/a

nothing that gives you heart burn...gurl you gotta walk a mile in my shoes ( and cute shoes they are) Dewhurst could have stopped that marriage amendment but he did not...I know Pollyanna only thinks we queers are fun little decorations to the real issues but no Tums is going to fix my heatburn from that freakin HJR 6
