If I Told You I Loved You, Would You Stay?

Rep. Pena writes an "Ode to Rep. Bob Griggs," praising him as a selfless civil servant. Do y'all even know what that is? Rep. Griggs thinks the leadership presented 'junk food' as a school finance plan and since he did, he's invited opposition from a "party-line" Republican in his next primary.

This is the kind of shit we hate about politics these days. Someone trying to do what's best for their constituents or for the state becomes an opponent if it isn't what the current leadership wants.

Rep. Pena asks you to try and persuade Rep. Griggs to run for another term. We'll send a Tiff's Treats cookie delivery tomorrow with our plea.

Bob Griggs is the Rep we all need...not above mistakes, he voted for Craddick over Laney, but willing to admit when he is wrong. A decent, honorable elected official who has voted his district and his knowledge. If he chooses to run again, his announced opponent is the current Republican party chair of Tarrant County, who is moving into the district to run against him. She has no chance of raising any funds from anyone in that District. (Griggs ran unopposed for an open seat). She will raise the crazy folks money and that can be substantial. Too bad our legislature does not make this a reporting requirement! I too will call and say RUN, PLEASE RUN....he should be a Speaker.

Rep. Griggs is the real deal. But Pena got the border thing wrong Griggs grew up in Alpine. Rep. Griggs, regardless of your politics, is the kind of person you hope gets elected to the state legislature, for him it's all about the responsibility not his ego.

Actually, I believe Griggs grew up in Monahans and his older brother was friends with Casteel. No wonder the two get along so well...
