Does a Website Make it a Movement?

There's a new Draft John Sharp website that's popped up.

Anyone heard if John Sharp has even seen it yet?

They need to provide a more up-to-date picture of the man. One that shows how old he really is. The hair coming out of his ears doesn't exactly hide the hearing aid.

Where can I get a cool nickname so I can leave a comment there?

(Oh, never mind...)

Wow, Mr Excitement himeself! Are people really serious about having the twice failed campaign of John Sharp taking a gander at a gubenatorial run? Keep drinking the Kool Aid democrats.

TheOilThaRunstheSenate at August 8, 2005 3:38 PM

I'll be launching the Draft Casey site soon enough. Then I will announce that I'm running for governor because you know, the people want me to run...I mean, just look at the site!

casey at August 9, 2005 10:35 AM

Speaking of Casey, old Bob Casey Sr. in PA was known as "the Three Time Loss from Holy Cross" due to his three consecutive statewide schelackings before he finally won. He then became one of the country's most popular and effective governors.

Sharp came within 4 points of winning in 2006. If he hadn't had such a terrible candidate leading the ticket, he'd have had a real chance at winning. He won counties out in the boonies where Democrats rarely get out of the 20% range. He can get all of the Democratic votes and the Strayhorn voters pissed off at Perry. He will win if he runs.

And don't think that Chris Bell will even be a factor. With less than $11,000 on hand and Sharp's well-established cash-generating abilities, Bell would be smart to start thinking about AG or Comptroller...

neac at August 9, 2005 2:02 PM

4%? Try closer to 6%. (That's over 259,000 votes.) That's against the weakest statewide R candidate, and that's with Sanchez spending $80 million on the "Dream Team." Keep on dreaming, Ds--you're going to need a stronger horse than that one. As far as whether he's seen the site, I refer you to Kelly Fero's announcement regarding his departure from the state party to support Sharp's campaign. "Draft John Sharp," indeed.

Johnboy Galt at August 9, 2005 3:25 PM

Fero said nothing about supporting Sharp or anyone else when he left the state party and has not, to my knowledge, announced his plans.

As for the Draft Sharp website, what's the big deal? It was started by a group of Dallas Democrats, some of them supporters of Sharp's, to encourage him to run. I know you folks don't believe in the dreaded MSM, but if you would peek at it now and then, it could clear up some of your wild conspiracies for you.

D at August 9, 2005 4:52 PM

PinkDome doesn't have any wild conspiracy theories. We simply asked a question. We really don't give a shit about the website to tell you the truth.

PinkDome at August 9, 2005 5:38 PM

D--"Fero said he has been recruiting Democratic candidates to run for the state House in 2006, which might mean that he could find himself having to take sides in a contested primary next year. In addition, he said, he would likely have a role in any campaign that former Comptroller John Sharp might mount in 2006, which would also drain his attention away from the state party."--Page B4, FWST, July 14, 2005.

Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey's Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.

I haven't been up to much lately. I've basically been doing nothing , but it's not important. I can't be bothered with anything recently. I've just been letting everything happen without me lately.

Sten95982 at January 13, 2007 2:08 AM

I feel like a complete blank, but I don't care. Pfft. I've pretty much been doing nothing worth mentioning.

Sten36095 at January 16, 2007 12:37 AM

I haven't been up to anything today. I don't care. I've just been staying at home not getting anything done. Basically not much happening right now. Maybe tomorrow. I guess it doesn't bother me.

Sten93875 at January 27, 2007 5:15 PM

I've more or less been doing nothing worth mentioning, but eh. My life's been really bland today. I don't care. I've just been letting everything happen without me these days. That's how it is.

Sten8908 at January 28, 2007 11:35 PM

My life's been pretty dull recently. Shrug. My mind is like a void. I haven't gotten anything done lately. I can't be bothered with anything recently.

Sten92655 at January 30, 2007 2:13 AM

I haven't been up to much these days. Today was a loss. Nothing seems important. I've just been letting everything happen without me these days.

I just don't have much to say recently. Such is life. I've basically been doing nothing. Basically nothing seems worth bothering with. Oh well.

Sten85618 at January 30, 2007 11:59 PM

Not much on my mind lately. My life's been completely boring these days. I've just been hanging out not getting anything done. So it goes.
