Other than Senator Armbrister baking cobbler in the Senate kitchen, HB 3 was a rollercoaster ride. The tax plan comes fairly close to the House version and the Governor's version. All this talk on taxes and blue ribbon commissions makes our head swim. It's very upsetting that even we can see that this tax structure is a frantic and desperate attempt by the legislature to avoid a state income tax.
Thankfully, we make much more than the $140,000 threshold to qualify for the tax break offered by this plan...so, there's that. The rest of you poor people can just piss off.
I am sooooo already there.
Can we have a loan? Actually, after watching Queer as Folk last night on Showtime, it started us thinking if there might be any organized opposition to our own "Proposition 14" (the fictitious constitutional proposition banning gay marriage, partnerships, friendships, unions, get-togethers, speech, etc.)
Since PD is awash in wealth, maybe you could be the seed money for the opposition group to our very own Constitutional amendment???
In the political spirit shown in Austin, I am going to take a pay cut in order to fall below the $140k so that I can do my duty and pay taxes.
