Friday news roundup

We read the news so you don't have to. Or rather - we skim articles so you don't have to.

The AAS covers Dewhurst and his "poison pill" obsession. Okay, I paraphrased.

Dave McNeely's most recent op-ed starts out with this illustrious sentence: "Perhaps there is a new chairman for the Carole Keeton Strayhorn Booster Club: Rick Perry." so you know it's going to be good.

The Startlegram focuses on "the reluctant legislator", Rep. Bob Griggs, and his reaction to Grusendorf.

The Waco Tribune-Herald discusses how the special session has made Rep. Dunnam postpone a "major accident liability trial".

Yeah, it's slim pickin's today, folks.

In the Statesman article, Ogden is quoted. "In the end, Sen. Steve Ogden, R-Bryan, said, "It's a hung jury." Not particularly well...oh, never mind.

Yes, and I heard Rep. Dan Flynn had to postpone his fund-raising golf tournament. What a total tragedy. I damned nearly cried.

Not sure if it's true or not, but this is the time of year he usually has it.

I like Dave McNeeley but he has long fantasized about Carole being a legitimate foe to Perry. Face it, the Republican primary electorate isn't going to be thrilled with her and why would Democrats ditch real Democrats to vote for her? Kinky is in better position to get disaffected voters of all stripes just because he knows who he is. It's a fantasy Dave. Move on.
